Finance Manager
Our client, a Liverpool city centre based office of an international shipping company is looking to bring a Finance Manager into the business, to work alongside Managing Director. Please note this role is the only finance position within this office, so requires a person who is able to do this job independently, as opposed to needing to learn on the job.
This role would be ideal for a skilled individual who is adept at multi-currency financial management (GBP, Euro, USD), purchase ledger, sales ledger, basic reporting, financial analysis, forecasting, and also, ideally strategic planning, dealing with commercial operational budgets.
You will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations and contributing to strategic decision-making processes.
NOTE: This role offers hybrid working, typically 2 days at home, 3 in the office with greater flexibility if required.
Please note there is likely to be travel required to Spain for some training during 1st 3 months of the role for 1 week – Fully funded by the company
Salary & Benefits for Finance Manager
- £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
- Hybrid working, 2 days from home 3 days from the office, with greater flexibility if required.

- Hours agreed can be flexible but approx. 8.30am/9am start, approx. 5pm finish but these times are not strict – 37.5 hours a week
Please note this employer is highly flexible around working hours, with some team members having specific arrangements around school drop off/picks up, longer lunches etc. One probationary period is complete, the company are generally happy for you to manage the hours yourself

The Finance Manager person/requirements
- Approx 2 years’ experience in a Finance Manager role, ideally within a small to medium sized company – Although this company is part of an international group, the Liverpool office has undergone significant changes to become more of a stand-alone independent operation
- AAT qualifications desirable – Ideally level 3
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Multi-currency experience
- Willingness to travel internationally occasionally for training and development purposes
- Experience with financial statements and general ledger management for multiple entities
- Proficiency in technology including financial management software and spreadsheets
- Compliance: knowledge of financial regulations and ability to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations across the group.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office 365.

- Margin reports & discrepancies
- Prepare reports – end of month, cashflow analysis & projection
- Analysis of financial position & creation of financial projections in order to help MD present the numbers to the Group , to support Group decision making
- Budgeting and forecasting: experience in creating and managing budgets (MD currently does this)
- Strategic planning ability, in order to be able to manage and control the business finances, and liaise with the MD directly in doing so would be advantageous
