A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Clerk to join a small and well-established accountancy practice walking distance from the city centre of Liverpool, where your contributions and involvement will be valued.
Salary & Benefits
£26,000 – £28,000
Hours: 40-hour working week with core hours between 9am to 5pm; Monday to Friday, however the employer is happy to be flexible around this.
Holidays: 20 days, plus 8 bank holidays

The Payroll Clerk Duties
In this role you will be responsible for processing the payroll and CIS returns for a portfolio of over 200 companies (you will initially be sharing this portfolio with one other, to help with smooth transition). The payroll is processed weekly, fortnightly, 4 weekly and monthly, and the company sizes range from 0 (nil EPS) to 50 employees, with the majority being under 10 employees.
Your responsibilities will cover all things payroll, including processing starters, leavers, completing end of month reconciliations, and Year-end reconciliations. In addition, you will manage the calculating of tax deductions including all statutory payments and processing SSP, SMP, SPP, attachments of earning and student loans. You will also process the distribution of payslips.
You will prepare PAYE liability letters for clients & explain to clients how to pay CIS/PAYE, you will also respond to and resolve any queries or issues clients may have by phone or email and handle any other appropriate payroll tasks and administration needed.
