Grants Officer
You will be joining a passionate team, directly helping in the delivery of funds in grants to charity and community groups to help provide support to the most vulnerable people in Lancashire and Merseyside. You will be aiding in the delivery of grant-making systems, strategy and growth plans including processing grant applications received from charitable organisations, completing grant assessments, tracking and reviewing monitoring and creating reports. Training will be provided.

Salary & Benefits
£18,720 – £22,880
Hours: Full time (35 hours per week). Occasional weekend and evening work hours (e.g. an event or grants panel meeting), for which time will be given back
Location: Hybrid working between Liverpool city centre office and working from home (currently in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, subject to change)
Holidays: 30 days annual leave, plus birthday and 8 days bank holiday

Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • 1 years’ experience working in an office and/or charity environment
  • Experience of managing customer enquires in a professional setting, and capable of engaging confidently in meetings and conferences with stakeholders, customers and/or donors
  • Effective written, verbal, report-writing and presentational communication skills
  • Administration techniques and best practice, Knowledge of financial processes, Monitoring and reporting
  • IT Literate (Microsoft Excel and database management)
  • Charitable grant-making and/or donation processing (desirable)
  • Good understanding of social and community issues and the social sector (desirable)
  • Successful account or relationship management (desirable)

Duties
Your main tasks will be:

  • Maintaining the database for grant applications and funding programmes, and producing grant reports from the database (Salesforce experience is desirable, but training will be provided)
  • Handling email and telephone enquiries from grant recipients, applicants and potential applicants
  • The administration of funds and programmes, and their criteria, including due diligence and assessments of them, ensuring transparency at all times
  • Monitoring the delivery of funds and programmes, tracking applicant activity against funder requirements
  • Conducting social impact reporting on the funding and programme achievements

You will also engage in Donor Care:

  • Supporting the account management of donor funds effectively delivering a fund’s aims and ensuring productive and long-lasting donor relationships
  • Supporting programme panel (decision-making) facilitation
  • Supporting the Programmes team with relationship management of a selection of private, public and corporate donors
  • Supporting donor care activities, such as organising project visits or stakeholder events

You will also contribute with Community Engagement:

  • Supporting the management and implementation of community engagement activities
  • Support in the delivery of reports that demonstrate the difference our funding makes
  • Supporting reputation building and profile raising with stakeholders
  • Support with measuring the impact of activities to inform future internal and external activities

In addition you may be asked to attend training courses and events and to share learning with other staff and the trustees.
